Staff at the Alliance fulfil the day-to-day operations with the express purpose of advancing the objects set by our student leaders
Joshua Millard, Executive Director
Joshua has been with the Alliance since May 2021. He is an experienced manager who specializes in logistics, operations, and policy development. Joshua led staff teams at the Evans Lake Forest Education Society, North Shore Multicultural Society (now IMPACT North Shore), and the Learning Buddies Network before joining the Alliance as its Executive Director. He is passionate about accessibility, economic justice, and fighting the climate crisis.
Hassan Merali, Director of communications
Hassan has been with the Alliance since November 2021. Drawing on his lived experiences and previous work with the Alliance and the Capilano Students’ Union, Hassan brings expertise in government relations, communications and multimedia, public engagement, and stakeholder relations. He is a passionate advocate for mental health, accessibility, civic engagement, and sexualized & gender-based violence prevention.
