Staff at the Alliance fulfil the day-to-day operations with the express purpose of advancing the objects set by our student leaders.
Joshua Millard, Executive Director
Joshua has been with the Alliance since May 2021. He is an experienced manager who specializes in logistics, operations, and policy development. Joshua led staff teams at the Evans Lake Forest Education Society, North Shore Multicultural Society (now IMPACT North Shore), and the Learning Buddies Network before joining the Alliance as its Executive Director. He is passionate about accessibility, economic justice, and fighting the climate crisis.
Hassan Merali,

Hassan is a communications and engagement professional who specializes in organizing, advocacy, media relations, and civic engagement. A former student advocate himself, Hassan loves helping students and mentoring young people. He has run youth civic engagement programs for CityHive and North Shore Community Resources and worked in various settings in non-profits, unions, and post-secondary education. He is passionate about making the world a better place through education and social, economic, racial, and environmental justice.
