Hassan Merali,
Acting Executive Director
Hassan is a communications and engagement professional who specializes in organizing, advocacy, media relations, and civic engagement. A former student advocate himself, Hassan first volunteered with the ABCS in 2017 and joined the staff team in 2021 to help mentor the next generation of student leaders. Hassan has run youth civic engagement programs for CityHive and North Shore Community Resources and worked in various settings in non-profits, labour unions, and post-secondary education. He is passionate about making the world a better place through education and social, economic, racial, and environmental justice.
